Torres Travel Company – Copper Canyon Tours, Mexico
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
Travel is an adventure, and part of what makes Copper Canyon (Barrancas del Cobre) so extraordinary is its natural landscape, mountain communities, changing seasons, historic towns, and unique transportation experiences.
At Torres Travel Company, we carefully plan our tours and work to provide travelers with enjoyable, comfortable, and well-organized experiences. However, travel naturally involves circumstances that cannot always be predicted or controlled.
This Travel Disclaimer explains some of those circumstances and the responsibilities of both Torres Travel Company and our travelers.
General Travel Disclaimer
Torres Travel Company provides and coordinates tours, transportation, accommodations, excursions, guides, and other travel-related services throughout Copper Canyon, El Fuerte, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and surrounding destinations in Mexico.
While we make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information and dependable travel arrangements, schedules, conditions, availability, and circumstances may change before or during a trip.
By booking or participating in a tour, travelers acknowledge the normal risks and uncertainties associated with travel.
Copper Canyon Travel
Copper Canyon is an extensive mountainous region of northern Mexico with significant variations in elevation, climate, terrain, infrastructure, and accessibility.
Depending on the itinerary, travel may involve:
- Mountain roads
- Extended vehicle transportation
- Train travel
- Walking and stairs
- Uneven or unpaved surfaces
- Outdoor activities
- Remote destinations
- Changes in elevation
- Changing weather conditions
- Limited services in some rural areas
Travelers should select tours and activities appropriate for their individual abilities and comfort level.
Chepe Train Travel
The Chepe train is one of the most famous ways to experience Copper Canyon and may be included in or coordinated as part of certain Torres Travel Company itineraries.
Train schedules, routes, fares, seat availability, operating conditions, delays, cancellations, and policies are controlled by the applicable railway operator.
Torres Travel Company may assist with planning and reservations but does not control railway operations.
Changes or delays involving train service may occasionally require modifications to transportation, accommodations, activities, or other portions of an itinerary.
When this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to help travelers adjust their plans.
Transportation & Road Conditions
Travel throughout the Copper Canyon region may involve private vehicles, vans, buses, trains, or other forms of transportation.
Travel times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, road construction, road conditions, weather, closures, mechanical issues, transportation schedules, or other circumstances.
Mountain travel can sometimes take longer than expected.
Travelers should allow reasonable flexibility in their schedules, particularly when connecting with flights, trains, or other time-sensitive transportation.
Weather & Natural Conditions
Weather conditions vary significantly throughout the Copper Canyon region because of differences in elevation and season.
Temperatures and conditions in El Fuerte may be very different from those experienced at higher elevations within the canyon region.
Weather can affect:
- Road conditions
- Visibility
- Outdoor activities
- Transportation schedules
- Hiking or sightseeing
- Access to certain destinations
- Scenic conditions
Torres Travel Company cannot guarantee specific weather, temperatures, visibility, sunsets, waterfalls, wildlife sightings, vegetation, or other natural conditions.
When weather significantly affects an itinerary, we will make reasonable efforts to provide appropriate alternatives.
Altitude & Physical Activity
Certain Copper Canyon destinations are located at significantly higher elevations than others.
Some travelers may experience temporary discomfort associated with changes in altitude, physical activity, climate, or extended travel.
Travelers are responsible for considering their own physical condition and determining whether a particular activity is appropriate for them.
Anyone with concerns about altitude, physical activity, or travel at higher elevations should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before traveling.
Torres Travel Company does not provide medical advice.
Health & Medical Needs
Travelers are responsible for bringing necessary medications and personal medical supplies and for making appropriate preparations for their individual needs.
Medical facilities and emergency services may be more limited in remote or rural areas than in major cities.
Travelers should inform Torres Travel Company before their trip of any mobility requirements or other travel accommodations that may affect the arrangements we make for them.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements when possible, but accessibility varies considerably throughout the region.
Outdoor & Adventure Activities
Certain optional activities may involve additional physical activity or inherent risks associated with outdoor recreation.
These may include hiking, horseback riding, cycling, ziplining, boating, or other recreational experiences depending on the destination and itinerary.
Participation in optional activities is voluntary.
Travelers should consider their own experience, physical ability, and comfort level before participating and should follow instructions provided by guides and activity operators.
Some activities may be operated by independent third-party providers and may be subject to additional participation requirements or waivers.
Independent Service Providers
Some services included in a Torres Travel Company itinerary may be provided by independent businesses.
These can include:
- Hotels
- Rail operators
- Airlines
- Transportation companies
- Local guides
- Restaurants
- Attractions
- Activity providers
- Tour operators
- Other tourism businesses
These businesses operate independently and are responsible for their own services, employees, equipment, facilities, schedules, safety procedures, and policies.
Torres Travel Company carefully coordinates travel arrangements but cannot control every action, omission, delay, cancellation, or operational decision made by an independent provider.
Itinerary Changes
We work hard to provide the itinerary our travelers expect.
Occasionally, circumstances may make changes necessary.
These circumstances may include weather, transportation changes, train schedules, road conditions, closures, availability, safety concerns, government actions, local events, or other unexpected situations.
Torres Travel Company reserves the right to make reasonable itinerary modifications when necessary for the operation or safety of a trip.
Whenever possible, we will attempt to provide a comparable alternative.
Travel Documents
Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have the documents required for their trip.
Depending on nationality and travel arrangements, these may include:
- Passport
- Government-issued identification
- Visa or immigration documentation
- Airline documentation
- Travel authorizations
- Tickets and reservation confirmations
- Other documentation required by authorities or transportation providers
Entry requirements can change.
International travelers should verify current passport, visa, immigration, and entry requirements applicable to their individual circumstances before traveling.
Torres Travel Company cannot be responsible for a traveler being denied transportation or entry because of missing, expired, incorrect, or insufficient documentation.
Personal Safety & Responsibility
Travelers are expected to exercise reasonable judgment and follow instructions provided by guides, transportation providers, hotels, activity operators, and local authorities.
Travelers are responsible for their personal decisions and conduct during a trip.
We encourage travelers to remain aware of their surroundings, safeguard valuables, follow local guidance, and respect local laws, customs, communities, and environments.
Personal Belongings
Travelers are responsible for passports, identification, money, luggage, cameras, phones, jewelry, electronics, and other personal belongings.
Torres Travel Company is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged personal property except where responsibility is established under applicable law.
We encourage travelers to keep important documents and valuables secure throughout their journey.
Travel Insurance
Torres Travel Company recommends that travelers consider appropriate travel insurance, particularly for multi-day, international, customized, or higher-value trips.
Depending on the policy purchased, travel insurance may provide coverage for circumstances such as:
- Trip cancellation
- Trip interruption
- Travel delays
- Medical emergencies
- Emergency transportation
- Lost or delayed baggage
- Other covered events
Insurance coverage varies significantly between policies.
Travelers are responsible for reviewing and selecting any insurance coverage appropriate for their needs.
Events Beyond Our Control
Torres Travel Company cannot be responsible for delays, cancellations, losses, additional expenses, or itinerary changes caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, natural disasters, fires, floods, road closures, transportation disruptions, strikes, government actions, civil disturbances, public health emergencies, infrastructure failures, or other extraordinary circumstances.
When an unexpected event affects a trip, our priority is to assist travelers and make reasonable alternative arrangements whenever possible.

Limitation of Responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Torres Travel Company is not responsible for losses, injuries, delays, additional expenses, cancellations, or damages caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by the acts or omissions of independent third-party service providers.
Nothing in this Travel Disclaimer is intended to exclude or restrict rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
